In short. Jimdo Creator uses Page Title - Website Title, with the page name as the Page Title fallback.
Definition: Jimdo Creator combines a page-specific title with the title for the whole website. Its documented pattern is
Page Title - Website Title; when the page title field is empty, Jimdo uses the page name for the page-specific part.
Key facts
- As of 16 October 2026, Jimdo defines the Page Title as the text shown at the top of the browser in its tab, and says Google can use it as the title for search results in its Page Title documentation.
- The Page Title field is individual to each page. If it is empty, the page name is used as standard, according to the same Jimdo documentation.
- The Site Title is the title for the whole website, and Jimdo shows the structure as
Page Title - Website Title. - Jimdo’s SEO checklist asks site owners to provide a page title and page description for each page in its SEO checklist.
- Google defines a title link as the title of a search result that links to a web page, and says its title-link generation is automated in its title-link documentation.
What are the two title fields?
Jimdo Creator separates the title for the current page from the title for the website. The Page Title describes one page. The Site Title supplies the website-level part that can accompany page titles across the site. Jimdo’s examples include Best Beef Burgers - Benny's Burger Bar, Tiny Taupe Teddybears - Tom’s Toys, and About us - Albert, the Usher.
The resulting composition is therefore read from left to right as the page-specific text, a hyphen, and the website-wide text. If the Page Title field is blank, the page name takes the first position. The Site Title remains the website-level field in the documented pattern.
What happens when no Page Title is entered?
The fallback is the page name. Jimdo states that the Page Title is individual to each page and that the page name is used as standard when no page title is entered. A page named About us with a Site Title of Albert, the Usher therefore follows Jimdo’s documented example pattern: About us - Albert, the Usher.
Jimdo’s SEO checklist also lists “Page title and page description for each page” among its recommendations.
Where do you edit the fields?
Jimdo’s instructions put both fields in the Creator editor. After opening the website in edit mode, use the Pages tab for the current page and the Website tab for the whole website:
Menu > SEO > Settings > SEO
Pages: Page Title
Website: Site Title
Save
The Page Title documentation says to enter the current page’s title in the Page Title field, then open Website and enter the whole-website title in the Site Title field before saving. The two fields are thus edited in separate tabs within the same SEO settings area.
How can Google treat the resulting title?
Google’s title-link documentation, updated 10 December 2025, says every page should have a title in the HTML <title> element and recommends descriptive, concise text. It also says Google Search can use several sources when creating a title link, including the content in <title> elements, the main visual title, heading elements, og:title, other prominent page text, anchor text, links pointing to the page, and WebSite structured data.
Google describes title-link generation as completely automated. The text shown in a search result can therefore differ from the page’s HTML title when Google detects an issue and generates an alternative from other page or reference text. Jimdo’s documented combination controls the title value its Creator settings produce; Google’s documentation describes the later search-result processing.
