In short. In HubSpot settings, open Content > Domains & URLs > Sitemap, select the domain in the Domain dropdown and click View XML file.
Definition: A sitemap is a file that describes website content for search engine crawlers. As of 17 October 2026, a HubSpot-hosted domain's sitemap is selected through the Domain dropdown in Settings > Content > Domains & URLs > Sitemap.
Key facts
- HubSpot's sitemap guide places the Domain dropdown on the Sitemap tab and provides a View XML file button for opening the file.
- Google's sitemap overview describes information about pages, videos, other files and their relationships as sitemap content.
- Google's July 2026 sitemap construction guidance specifies complete, absolute URLs and says Google attempts to crawl URLs exactly as listed.
Where is the domain selector?
HubSpot's editing instructions give this sequence:
- Open the settings icon in the account's top navigation bar.
- In the left sidebar, open Content > Domains & URLs.
- Open the Sitemap tab.
- Open the Domain dropdown and select the sitemap for the intended domain.
The selected sitemap is the context for page inclusion changes. In the same instructions, HubSpot places + Add a page, Remove and page Options after domain selection. The final Save action takes edits live. Domain selection therefore comes before checking or changing the page list for a particular hosted domain.
How is the selected sitemap opened or exported?
HubSpot's viewing instructions identify View XML file as the control that opens the sitemap in a new browser tab or window. The same guide also documents direct access by appending this path to the website domain:
/sitemap.xml
For a check outside the settings screen, the browser address combines the intended website domain with that path. This also gives a direct way to inspect the XML file rather than relying solely on the settings table.
HubSpot describes two export methods: copying the XML content into a text document, or saving the browser tab or window to the device. These methods retain a copy of the file being viewed.
What should be checked in the selected file?
HubSpot's sitemap documentation says live HubSpot-hosted website pages and blog posts are added automatically. Landing pages require manual inclusion. A missing landing page therefore calls for an inclusion check after selecting the intended domain.
For a domain check, the hostnames in the listed page URLs can be compared with the domain selected in settings. Google's sitemap construction guidance specifies complete, absolute URLs, which include the website domain.

FAQ
Can I open the sitemap without using the settings screen?
Yes. HubSpot documents adding /sitemap.xml to the end of your website domain and opening that address in a browser.
How long should I wait after saving an edit?
HubSpot says sitemap changes can take up to 30 minutes to update. After that interval, you can open the XML file again to check the entries.
