What does Google require?
Google's documentation, last updated 8 September 2026, separates the outer Quiz from its nested flashcards. The Quiz section identifies hasPart as the property for a single flashcard question and says to repeat it for multiple flashcards. The Question section then lists three required properties: acceptedAnswer, eduQuestionType, and text.
The answer is represented as an Answer object. Google describes acceptedAnswer as the full answer to a flashcard and limits each Question to one such property. The eduQuestionType value in the example is Flashcard.
How should the JSON-LD be nested?
The outer object is a Quiz. Each entry in hasPart is a Question with the fixed question type, the question text, and one nested Answer object.

The required acceptedAnswer value is an Answer, and its text value supplies the answer text.
How do the Schema.org meanings fit?
Schema.org defines Quiz as “A test of knowledge, skills and abilities.” Its hasPart property indicates an item or CreativeWork that is part of another item. Google applies that general relationship to the flashcards nested inside a quiz.
Schema.org describes Question as a specific question and says that eduQuestionType indicates the format of a question that is part of a learning resource such as a quiz. Its examples include “Flashcard”. The Answer type is an answer offered to a question. These definitions explain the vocabulary; Google's Education Q&A page defines the required combination for this Search feature.
How can you check the required fields?
Google instructs site owners to validate structured data with the Rich Results Test, fix critical errors, and use URL Inspection after deploying pages with the markup. The questions should be immediately visible on the page, rather than held only in a data file or PDF. The page must contain at least one question and answer pairing, with an answer related to the question.

FAQ
Does a flashcard page use QAPage markup?
If you publish flashcards, use the Quiz and nested Question structure described here. Google reserves QAPage for a page with one question followed by user-submitted answers.
Can one Question have several acceptedAnswer properties?
No. Google states that there must be only one acceptedAnswer property per Question type. The nested Answer.text value holds the full flashcard answer.
Can a page mix Flashcard and other eduQuestionType values?
No. Google says all questions on the page must use the Flashcard value. A page containing other question types is not eligible for the Education Q&A carousel.
