Which boiler installations does Chauffage+ cover?

The Citead team, updated

In short. Chauffage+ covers condensing and micro-cogeneration boiler installations with useful output below 70 kW in France.

Definition: Under Qualit'EnR's September 2026 rules, Chauffage+ is a qualification for installation businesses covering condensing boilers and micro-cogeneration boilers with useful output below 70 kW in France. It carries the RGE designation, the French quality recognition for environmental competence.

Key facts

  • Qualit'EnR's August 2026 qualification guide lists condensing boilers and micro-cogeneration as the activities covered by Chauffage+.
  • The qualification rules specify useful output strictly below 70 kW and heating systems whose energy source is not exclusively renewable.
  • In October 2026, France Rénov's company lookup accepts a business name or identification number and a date for checking its qualification status.

What equipment falls within the scope?

Section 7.11.1 of Qualit'EnR's qualification rules describes businesses with the technical, human and financial resources to install the covered heating systems using their own resources. It names condensing boilers and micro-cogeneration within the RGE framework and applies the useful-output limit to the systems installed.

The same rules assign wood-fired heating connected to a hydraulic circuit to Qualibois Eau, with output below 70 kW in individual homes. They assign heat pumps in individual homes to QualiPAC Chauffage et ECS, the heating and domestic hot water module. These are separate qualification scopes within Qualit'EnR's scheme.

Which installations count as evidence of competence?

Under section 7.11.9 of the qualification rules, a business must provide at least two installation references from the preceding 48 months, subject to the scheme's experience requirements. Eligible references are specifically condensing boilers or micro-cogeneration boilers with useful output below 70 kW.

Section 7.11.10 also requires a Chauffage+ audit to concern a condensing-boiler or micro-cogeneration-boiler installation. Section 7.11.3 requires insurance covering installation activities within the qualification's scope, including supplying and fitting equipment using the business's own resources.

How can the business's qualification be checked?

The qualification rules give this format for a Chauffage+ qualification number. The bracketed French text is a placeholder for the company's identifier:

CH / [identifiant de l’entreprise]

The number must appear on the qualified business's quotations and invoices. The certificate states the period it covers, and annual follow-up can produce a certificate covering a further 12 months. Use of qualification logos is restricted to qualifications obtained and years covered by the company's certificates.

France Rénov's lookup form searches by company name, SIREN or SIRET, the French business and establishment identifiers. It also requests a date and gives the invoice date as an example.

FAQ

Does a boiler rated at exactly 70 kW fall within the published scope?

The qualification rules require useful output below 70 kW. A useful output of exactly 70 kW falls outside that limit.

Can I check the qualification for a particular invoice date?

France Rénov's company lookup asks for the date on which qualification is to be checked. Its instructions explicitly give the invoice date as an example.
