In short. Saving a business name and address in Wix Business Info automatically adds LocalBusiness markup for the homepage’s primary location.
Definition: LocalBusiness markup is structured data that describes a business and its location to search engines. As of October 2026, Wix automatically adds it to the homepage when a business name and location are saved in Business Info.
Key facts
- Wix's homepage markup documentation limits automatic Local Business markup to the primary location.
- Wix's business information guide provides an address selector and editable address details, including city and postal code.
- Google's LocalBusiness documentation lists
nameandaddressas required properties for rich result eligibility.
Which business information fields supply the markup?
Wix's Local Business guide maps the markup's name to Name in Profile, its URL to the site's URL, its image to the business logo, and its address to Location and Contact Info.
The Business Info instructions also describe a business category and a short description in Profile. The logo is uploaded through the Media Manager. In the address field, typing an address opens a list of suggestions; selecting one allows corrections to country, apartment or suite, city, and postal code. Location Name labels the location, while Address Description supplies directions such as which entrance to use.
The Contact info section separately accepts email, phone, and fax details. These dashboard fields extend beyond the homepage markup fields listed in Wix's Local Business guide.
How is the markup created and tested?
The homepage workflow starts in the site's dashboard: open Settings, select Business info, enter Name under Profile, add Address under Location and contact info, then select Save. Adding a logo is optional.
In Wix Editor, the testing route is:
Pages & Menu > homepage More Actions > SEO basics
> Advanced SEO > Structured data markup
> Local business More Actions > Test on Google
The test opens Google's Rich Results Test; Test Code runs it. Wix's structured data instructions describe Test on Google as a check for rich result eligibility.
What should be checked in the results?
Google's LocalBusiness reference defines address as the physical business location and name as the business name. It recommends fixing critical errors reported by the Rich Results Test. Non-critical issues can improve the quality of the data but are optional for eligibility.
For a published homepage, the same documentation recommends using Search Console's URL Inspection tool to check how Google sees the page. Access restrictions to check include a robots.txt block, a noindex tag, or a login requirement. Eligibility in the test is a technical check, rather than a prediction of search appearance.
