How do I add Product schema with Rank Math?

The Citead team, updated

In short. Add Product through Rank Math's Schema Generator, complete the relevant fields, save the page and check its markup with Google's Rich Results Test.

Definition: Rank Math's Product schema template adds structured data describing a product to a WordPress post or page. Structured data is a standardized format that identifies page content and its properties for search engines.

Key facts

  • As of 17 October 2026, Rank Math's schema generator documentation lists Product among the schema types available in its free version.
  • Rank Math's Product setup guide marks Product Name as mandatory and provides fields for description, product identifiers, offers and reviews.
  • Google's product snippet requirements require a product name and at least one of review, aggregateRating or offers.

How is the Product template added?

Rank Math's schema generator guide starts with enabling the Schema (Structured Data) module under Rank Math SEO → Dashboard. In the WordPress block editor, the Rank Math icon opens the sidebar containing the Schema tab. The Classic Editor provides the same tab in the Rank Math metabox.

The Product setup guide then gives the selection path: Schema → Schema Generator → Product → Use. This opens the Schema Builder. After editing the fields, Save for this Post saves the schema configuration; the post or page must also be saved or published.

Which product data belongs in the fields?

Rank Math's Product field reference identifies the following inputs:

  • Product Name contains the product's name. Variables can supply it from the post title.
  • Description accepts product text or a variable. Product SKU holds the Stock Keeping Unit, the product's unique stock identifier. Brand Name identifies the brand.
  • Offers contains a numeric Price, Currency expressed as an ISO 4217 code, Availability, and Price Valid Until. The documented availability choices are In Stock, Sold Out and Preorder.
  • Review contains the rating score and the minimum and maximum values of its scale. Review Location controls placement of the displayed information; the shortcode option allows a custom position in the content.

The same reference marks Product URL, Brand URL, GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) and MPN (Manufacturer Part Number) as PRO fields. It also labels Pros and Cons as a PRO option for editorial reviews.

Google's Offer example shows how a numeric price and currency appear in structured data. This is an example fragment:

{
  "offers": {
    "@type": "Offer",
    "price": 39.99,
    "priceCurrency": "USD"
  }
}

How are missing requirements checked?

Google's product snippet documentation requires an offer price when the offers route is used. Its Rich Results Test identifies critical errors that need correction. The test may report a warning when an offer is present without a review or aggregate rating, although those properties are alternatives for product snippet eligibility.

FAQ

Do I need Rank Math PRO for the Product template?

You can use Product schema in the free version, according to Rank Math's schema type list. That list separately identifies Code Validation as a PRO feature.

Does WooCommerce require the same manual entry?

Rank Math's Product guide says its built-in WooCommerce support automatically uses product information for Product schema. If you use WooCommerce, that integration is the documented source of product data.
