In short. The Product snippets and Merchant listings reports are separate reports under Shopping in Search Console.
Definition: Product snippets and merchant listings are separate Search Console reports for Product structured data. Google places both reports under Shopping in the Search Console navigation when the property contains supported valid markup.
Key facts
- Google's rich result report help says that Search Console provides a separate report for each type of rich result found on a property.
- The same help page says that rich result reports are generally under Enhancements, while product snippets and merchant listings are under Shopping.
- A report for a rich result type appears only when Google finds valid markup in the property and the markup is a supported rich result type.
- Google's Product snippet documentation describes a product snippet as a text result with extra product information such as ratings, review information, price, and availability.
- Google's Merchant listing documentation describes merchant listing experiences as including the shopping knowledge panel, Google Images, popular product results, and product snippets.
Where is the menu?
Open the property in Search Console and use the Shopping category in the navigation. The path for each report is:
Search Console
Shopping
Product snippets
Merchant listings
Google's rich result report help first gives the general instruction to locate rich result reports under Enhancements. It then specifically places the Product snippets and Merchant listings reports under Shopping. The two names identify separate reports, so opening one does not combine its issue table with the other report.
Why are there two reports?
Google's Product snippet documentation assigns the Merchant listings report to pages where shoppers can buy products. It assigns the Product snippets report to other product-related pages, including product reviews and aggregator sites. Both reports provide warnings and errors for Product structured data, but Google keeps them separate because the associated experiences have different requirements.
The same documentation gives one practical boundary: the Merchant listings report includes checks for product snippets that contain Offer structured data. The Product snippets report therefore covers non-merchant listing pages. Google's Merchant listing documentation also says that merchant listings can show more specific product information, including price, availability, shipping, and return information.
What does each report show?
Google's rich result report help says that each report has a landing page and an issue details page. The landing page has a chart of current valid and invalid items, tables for critical and non-critical issues, and a link to valid items. The report counts items rather than pages, and the examples list can omit rows because it is a sample of detected items.
The issue details page shows the issue title, a help link, a description, validation status when validation has started, the first detected date, examples, and the last crawled date. Selecting an example can open URL Inspection for error details and indexed and live test results. For a URL absent from the report, Google directs you to URL Inspection because the reports are not a comprehensive list of every detected item.
How do you check the correct report?
Start with the page type. Select Merchant listings for a product page where a shopper can buy the product. Select Product snippets for a product review or an aggregator page. If neither report appears, Google's help page says that the report is shown only when Google finds valid markup in the property and the markup belongs to a supported rich result type. The page links this situation to Google's guidance for debugging missing structured data.

FAQ
Are these reports under Enhancements or Shopping?
Google describes Enhancements as the general location for rich result reports, then gives Shopping as the location for the separate Product snippets and Merchant listings reports. Use Shopping for these two report names.
Why is a product review associated with Product snippets?
Google lists product reviews and aggregator sites as examples of other product-related pages covered by the Product snippets report. A page where shoppers can buy the product belongs to the Merchant listings report category.
Does a report list every product URL?
No. Google's rich result report help says the reports show a sample of detected items. Use URL Inspection to check a URL that is absent from the report.
