In short. Use the Blog module's Content > Elements switches for visible post details and Design > Meta Text for their presentation.
Definition: Divi's Blog module uses the Content tab's Elements group to choose which post details appear in each item's meta text. The available switches cover the author, date, categories, and comment count, while the Design tab's Meta Text group controls their presentation.
Key facts
- Elegant Themes' Divi 5 Blog Module documentation places post meta selection and category selection in the Content tab.
- The Divi Blog Module documentation lists Show Author, Show Date, Show Categories, and Show Comment Count as switches for showing or hiding details in the meta text.
- The same documentation exposes Date Format in the Content options, so the displayed post date can use a selected format.
- Elegant Themes' Meta Text documentation describes styling for author name, date, categories, and comment count.
Where to select the visible post details
The Divi 5 Blog Module article, updated 8 June 2026, says the module can display posts, pages, media, projects, and products in full-width or masonry grids. After you add the module, open its Content tab. Elegant Themes says this tab lets you choose post meta elements to display and select the categories used by the module.
Open the Elements group and enable the details that each post card should show. The documented switches use yes or no values:
Content > Elements
Show Author: Yes
Show Date: Yes
Show Categories: Yes
Show Comment Count: Yes
The Blog Module settings are arranged under Content, Design, and Advanced tabs. The visibility choice belongs to Content > Elements, alongside controls such as the featured image, read more button, excerpt, and pagination.
What each switch displays
Elegant Themes' Blog Module options guide defines the four relevant controls directly. Show Author shows or hides the author's name in the meta text. Show Date shows or hides the post date. Show Categories shows or hides the categories. Show Comment Count shows or hides the comment count.
These controls can be combined. For example, a card can show the author and date while omitting the category and comment count. The same Content options include Date Format, which the guide describes as the setting for changing how the date is displayed.
How to style the visible metadata
Visibility and appearance are separate choices. The Divi 5 Meta Text documentation says the Meta Text design options customize post metadata, including author name, date, categories, and comment count. To find them, open the module settings, go to the Design tab, and locate the Meta Text option group.
The group includes Meta Font, Meta Font Weight, Meta Text Size, Meta Text Color, Meta Line Height, Meta Letter Spacing, and Meta Text Alignment. It also documents Meta Font Style and Meta Text Shadow. These settings apply to the meta text that the Content tab has made visible.
What the Meta option group controls in Divi 5
The page titled Understanding the Meta Option Group in Divi 5, updated 27 May 2026, describes a separate builder group. It says the group customizes an element's Element Label, forces its visibility inside the Visual Builder, and controls whether its content is included in the page's Table of Contents. The page says that each Divi module, column, row, and section has this group. Author and date display in a Blog module are documented under Content > Elements, while this Meta group handles builder and Table of Contents settings.
